Bullet Love

I love bullets. Ok, I know they kill things and all that, but they look super cute. I used to collect bullet shells in the countryside when I was little. But one day I decided to be grown up and have a clear-out. Hence why I don’t have bullets to make beautiful jewellery from. But no fear! Bullet Girl makes stunning jewellery from, well, bullets. Check them out and go ahead and treat yourself!

Barbie’s Becky

When I was young I saved up and got Becky, Barbie’s disabled friend. I totally loved her, she was my favourite doll and I took her everywhere, I still have her. When I was little I wasn’t aware or the controversy that surrounded Becky. Mattel said they released Becky to make children aware of disabilities. Well it worked on me!

Lee Crutchley – Quoteskine

Every sketchbook, notebook, diary or Moleskin we’ve ever nosed through has quotes here and there. We’ve always loved seeing what quotes people take time to scribble down. But no one scribbles down a quote quite like Lee Crutchley. He’s a graphic designer from Staffordshire who began writing quotes he’s collected in fun, intelligent ways.

Alice Wang = Genius

I’ve just come across the designs of Alice Wang. Simple, beautiful, yet genius!

This alarm clock steals your mobile phone and randomly shuffles through your contact list and calls someone every three minutes after the desired wake up time. Fuck, that would make me get out of bed the second my alarm went off… imagine all the one night stands it could call…

More people have flexible lifestyles and can therefore have the perfect amount of sleep before they start their day. So, instead of setting when you want to wake up, this clock allows you to set how long you want to sleep for.

Naked Calendar

Ok, so there’s not much of 2010 left to go, which didn’t bother us until we came across this calendar by EIZO and Butter. The calendar is actually to promote new medical equipment, but the genius of the campaign means it has become famous in it’s own right.

Hellz Bellz: 2009 Holiday Collection

Hellz Bellz has been one of our favourite clothing brands since it began. They have started to move away from their simple, but beautiful t-shirts and began stepping their game up with coats, hats, leggings, jumpers, shirts, and lot more. The new winter 2009 collection has just dropped and it seems they are still pushing the game further and further. Take a look at their website then cop these pieces at Karmaloop. Wear it to death.

WAHt the..

You knows Pussy loves its claws. Especially colourful jeweled ones. In the heart of Dalston on Kingsland road, a new kind of boutique has opened up. It’s the brainchild of WAH magazine founder Sharmadean Reid; WAH Nails promises to give you a different experience whilst getting your nails did. Half Nail boutique, half gallery-come-boutique, they stock everything from old issues of ID Magazine to Married to the Mob and Stussy Girls. We went down to check out the nails and sales.

It already stands out as a place to be from the bus passing down the road. Colourful banana typo in the window, hula hoops and magazines displayed by the door. On arrival Pussy got a friendly welcome and a cup of tea, and the chance to design what nail art you want on some illustrated print outs. I opted for a gloomy bear style bloody claw (after hawking one on my phone for a good while), and sat down for my treatment with Sharmadean. She was great, and the nails were exactly what I’d hoped for. People been checking them out on the bus since. Sharmadean hopes for WAH domination, and a sister boutique in her hometown of Wolverhampton, where her family could take over and work. It good to know this girl is proud of where she came from and hoping to give something back. It’s fun and the nail art is well done, and gives the customer a chance to get creative and get what they really want. Head down for some new stitches, nail work or keep checking the blog for one of their up and coming parties!

Nail art starts from £8, find it at 420 Kingsland Road, London, E8 4AA, 020 7812 9889.
